Brian Kenney, Pastor
Brian came to First Southern Baptist Church in June 2010 from Rockford, IL where he served as the chaplain for the Wesley Willows Continuing Care Retirement Community.
Brian is a graduate of Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Missouri, Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
2015 marks Brian's 40th year in full-time ministry. During those years Brian has served as a retirement community chaplain, associate pastor in the areas of youth, music, and education, and in IBSA campus ministries.
Brian currently serves as the moderator for the Sandy Creek Baptist Association and is the vice-chair for the IBSA Committee on Committees.
Brian is actively involved in his community. He serves as the police and fire chaplain for Beardstown, District 17 Little League Chaplain and umpire, and is a member of the Beardstown Kiwanis.
Brian's wife, Terry is retired from the healthcare field and is the owner of "Sew It Seams". Terry is a trained ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor with IBSA and currently serves as the President of the Beardstown Kiwanis. She also volunteers with the Pregnancy Resource Center and Grand Avenue Elementary School.
